Steam has exceeded its usual maintenance cycle, and much of the United States remains offline.
However, it should be noted that reports of issues have started to drop, meaning that Steam servers could be back online for everyone shortly.
Steam servers are down tonight, according to gamers trying to access regular platform features.
Thousands of reports are being shared of issues accessing Steam game libraries and multiplayer servers.
Apex Legends is one of several big multiplayer games that are currently facing issues due to tonight’s problems on Steam.
One affected user writes: “I can’t log into Steam, but a friend down the street is online in Steam right now playing Valheim online.”
Another adds: “It’s maintenance, happens every Tuesday. Although it seems to be taking longer than usual.”
As pointed out above, Valve usually takes Steam servers down for maintenance on Tuesdays, but this usually only lasts up to ten minutes.
It’s unclear what is causing tonight’s outage or how long it might last globally on PC and other compatible devices.
