Issa Rae criticizes Hollywood for ‘protecting’ Ezra Miller after ‘atrocious behaviour’!– OnMyWay Mobile App User News

‘The Photograph’ actress Issa Rae is less optimistic about support for women in Hollywood now than she was in the immediate wake of #MeToo.

Issa Rae is highlighting what it feels like to be a woman in the #MeToo era and pointed out how Hollywood must change the way they work. In an interview with ELLE, she mentioned the entertainment industry must change itself.

“I’m gonna be real, the stuff that’s happening with Ezra Miller is, to me, a microcosm of Hollywood,” Rae said. “There’s this person who’s a repeat offender, who’s been behaving atrociously, and as opposed to shutting them down and shutting the production down, there’s an effort to save the movie and them.”

Miller will star in “The Flash” in the movie, which is scheduled for release June 23, 2023, despite his scandals. At Warner Bros. Discovery’s quarterly earnings call in early August, CEO David Zaslav mentioned “The Flash” film as one of the upcoming projects he is excited about.

Rae explained, “That is a clear example of Hollywood’s willingness to go to any lengths to defend itself and defend offenders.” Women could thrive if they didn’t have to worry about keeping silent because it would ruin their careers. This is just a constant pattern of abuse that will persist only if Hollywood continues to insist on it.

“It’s literally the worst industry when it comes to punishing people for misdeeds and actions, because money will always reign supreme. That’s something that, even by working in this industry, we’re enabling.”: Rae said.

“So it’s hard. What I have realised is that I can control my own environment and who I work with. I can hold people accountable within my world and my bubble. I don’t have to work for everybody. All money isn’t good money. All people aren’t good people”, she added.
