Elliot Page Tells Seth Meyers ‘Umbrella Academy’ Showrunner Was Excited About Incorporating Actor’s Transition Into The Show!– OnMyWay Mobile App User News

Elliot Page spoke to Seth Meyers on Late Night last night about how The Umbrella Academy covered the actor’s own personal transition to Season 3 of the show, which premieres today on Netflix.

“With Umbrella showrunner Steve Blackman,” Page said, “when we first talked about it he was really excited to have it on the show.”

The two helped somewhat to ensure that the show transformed Page’s character, known as Vanya in the first two seasons, into Victor, as he appeared in Season 3 in a respectable and comfortable manner. Is known.

Page told Meyers that he brought “an incredible writer, journalist, author Thomas Page MacBee, whom I met in a mini-series called Tales of the City. He wrote an extraordinary book called The Amateur, which I would like everyone to read.” I highly recommend it. He was the first trans man to box at Madison Square Garden. And his book and his work in general is a lot about masculinity and what it means and exploring it. Thomas came on board And helped and I’m proud of it and excited for people to see it.”

When asked this morning how viewers have reacted to his turn as Victor, Page told GMA, “So far it looked really positive, which makes me feel happy in terms of representation and hope.” That it means something to the people.”

Meyers, on the other hand, asked the actor last night about tolerating negative reactions to his transition.

“That’s what I want to focus on right now, and [it’s] been pretty extraordinary,” Page told the Late Night host, “I think there’s a degree of happiness. The degree of presence that I feel. I’m a I feel in a way I didn’t think possible for a really long, long time.”

In March, Page revealed his character’s transformation on social media.

“Meet Victor Hargreaves,” wrote Page, along with a first-look photo.

Netflix retweeted Page’s post, writing, “Welcome to the family, Victor – we’re so glad you’re here.”
