Jake Paul, Nate Diaz teams throw punches at prefight faceoff!- OnMyWay Mobile App User News

DALLAS — A physical altercation broke out onstage on Thursday at the Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz news conference after the two main-event fighters faced off. Both security teams from the camps got into a shoving match, with punches being thrown, as tensions escalated between Paul, Diaz, and their respective teams.

The highly anticipated boxing match between Paul, the YouTuber-turned-prizefighter, and Diaz, the former longtime UFC star, is scheduled for Saturday night at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The animosity between the two teams has been brewing for almost a year. According to Diaz’s team, one of Paul’s security guards targeted their fighter and his team during the onstage confrontation. Paul responded on social media, claiming that a member of Diaz’s team threw the first punch, resulting in the security guard retaliating.

“Nate’s team has emailed my team trying to claim assault after his team swung first,” Paul posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Apparently the guy who swung first is at the hospital getting stitches. Hilarious these fake gangsters acting like this!”

During the altercation, Diaz and Paul remained on the outskirts of the scuffle. However, tensions were already high due to a member of Paul’s Betr media team provoking Diaz with comments about eagerly anticipating Diaz’s defeat. This same person had also trash-talked Diaz’s brother, Nick, another UFC veteran, during a news conference in May.

The history of animosity between the two teams goes back to last October when Diaz slapped one of Paul’s security guards during a brawl at Paul’s fight against Anderson Silva. Diaz took the opportunity during the news conference to remind the security guard of that incident multiple times.

Chris Avila, a teammate of Diaz’s who will be facing off against former UFC fighter Jeremy Stephens on Saturday, claimed that the security guard was responsible for instigating the situation. Avila stated, “That security guard who got clowned on stage with Nate, he’s the one who started the s—. He needs his ass whooped.”

This altercation adds to the drama and intensity leading up to the highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz. The clash between their respective teams further fuels the animosity and rivalry between the two fighters. Fans are eagerly awaiting Saturday night to see if they can settle their differences in the ring and put on an entertaining and action-packed fight.
