Brie Larson Marvel’s recent Twitter post was praised by Marvel fans, after the actor spoke to her about her future during a recent MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) interview.
Larson plays Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, in the popular superhero movie franchise.
Starting with her role in 2018 Captain Marvel Larson has faced online pushback from a small subset of Marvel fans, including targeted sexist harassment campaigns.
When asked how long she would play the role, Larson said: Diversity: “I don’t know. Does anyone want me to do it again?”
Fans said they were “heartbroken” by her response.
The Academy Award winner made the comments at D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, USA, which got a first look at Marvel Studios’ upcoming the Miracles was revealed.
Now Larson has addressed the trolls in a new Twitter post, consisting of two photos accompanied by a “legendary” caption.
The photos show the cast of the Miracles including Mrs. Marvel star Iman Vellani, whose debut superhero outing was bombed shortly after its release.
Also pictured is Teyonah Paris (who played Monica Rambeau in Captain Marvel and The Marvel Director Nia DaCosta).
Referring to opposition to her (and presumably Vellani’s) casting, Larson’s caption read, “Trolls are burning*.”
Commenting on Larson’s post, one fan wrote: “I can only imagine how exhausting all the harassment you’ve received over the past few years must have been but please know you still have SO many fans and we want you to see Carol plays for years and years to come! Can’t wait for this movie!”
“These photos make me insanely happy,” another confirmed.
The Miracles is scheduled for release in July next year.
